Oxjam Bedford at the Burnaby Arms Bedford

Burnaby-708x400

This Saturday, (August 2nd 2014) Kam will be playing at the Burnaby Arms Bedford. Kam is very excited to be part of Oxjam this year and will be performing an acoustic set. This is a free entry event and all are welcome

This year we return to the Burnaby Arms, for the first Oxjam Bedford Takeover gig of the year. It’s going to be acoustic in one the best best pubs in Bedford. Settle in for the afternoon in the sun with Oxjam, and some of the best local talent around.

This year we feature, among others, Kam Singh, Iain Orkisz, Jonny Mudd and wonderful Cicero Buck.

Oxjam is a programme of events nationally, throughout October, all raising money for Oxfam. Since the first event in 2006, Oxjam has raised over £1.5m for Oxfam’s life-saving emergency responses and life-changing development work. That’s enough money to buy 13,000 emergency shelters, 60,000 goats or 900 classrooms. Oxjam Bedford are a team of unpaid volunteers, working hard to bring some fantastic events to Bedford, whilst raising money for Oxfam. The highlight of the Oxjam Bedford events programme is the Oxjam Bedford Takeover, ‘taking over’ Bedford’s best live music venues on Saturday 19 October. The Takeover is a one-day multi-venue music festival, featuring the best of Bedford’s local music talent. One wristband will give you access to the Takeover venues, featuring over 60 great bands, performers, and DJs, all coming together to support one fantastic cause. “Taken from Bedford Oxjam official”

rf2014-logobig

Kam Singh will be playing live at the Bedford River Festival 2014 on Sunday 13:00hrs (Community Stage) This is  a free Gig and all are welcome. This is the 2nd appearance Kam Singh has made at this event and is looking forward to playing in his home town. Kam will be accompanied by David Exley on Drums & Percussion.

The 2012 festival saw record visitor numbers with over 320,000 spectators and participants on site over the weekend and we expect larger crowds in 2014 as the festival continues to build on previous successes with it’s colourful milieu of live entertainment, river events, parade, funfair and fete with activities as diverse as raft races, fireworks, sports, arts and heritage villages. Indeed, entertainment features strongly at the event with displays from local community groups in the arts and sporting worlds, to a multitude of professional acts. The Bedford River Festival is free to the public and offers numerous opportunities to participate in, or just to relax and enjoy a vast array of activities and entertainment across a 105 acre site..
